17 May 09 Interview with Energy Expert

Hi Folks!  Thanks for joining us today.  We are interviewing Mike Sullivan, an energy expert, having worked with a huge electric power supplier for many years.

GMTA:  So why should we believe what you have to say about Home Made Power Plant, Earth4Energy or any of the others?
Mike: Ha Ha, well, maybe because what I have to tell you will shock you.  But probably not in the direction that you might think.

GMTA:  What do you mean?
Mike: Well, I actually encourage people to buy one of these guides.  Which is shocking since most folks think I would side with your electric supplier.

GMTA:  That IS quite a shocker.  Can you explain why you think this way?
Mike: Sure, first of all, it’s my job to review these things from the opposite side of the fence.  I mean, I am supposed to find out why people shouldn’t buy these books.  You know, I am supposed to do what makes the most money for the big guy — your electric source supplier.

GMTA:  Can you tell us which guide is the best, in your opinion?
Mike: I was actually startled at how well Home Made Power Plant was illustrated.  The author did a phenomenal job with the detail.  Step by step photos, illustrations, and instructions were what first caught my eye.  I thought, “Heck, I can build this thing.”  So I would have to say that I liked Home Made Power Plant the best.  The others were ok but just not quite up to the standard that Home Made Power Plant put out there.

GMTA:  What were your results from Home Made Power Plant?
Mike: I saved over a third off my electric bill.  A third!  Just don’t tell my boss!

GMTA:  And what would you recommed to the readers of this blog?
Mike: I would say, “Go For It!”, I mean, what would stop anyone from trying to save some money?  If you can use a few simple tools — solder gun, screwdriver and your noggin — you can build these things.

26 Apr 09 Earth4Energy or Home Made Power Plant?

For those of you who frequent my other green blogs, you know that I don’t really like a lot of hype surrounding the products that I review or use personally. However, I have been very interested in the new ebooks teaching techniques to create your own solar and wind power. This is definitely not a new idea but it is one of the hottest topics in the eco-friendly world.

Can a regular Joe like you and I make our own power supply? Sure we can! But can we do it by following one of the newest ebooks? Let’s find out which, if any, are our best bet to saving money on electricity and keeping the earth greener.

The first book we are reviewing is Earth4Energy.  This is definitely the book getting the most hoopla.   Not because it’s better in quality, just better in marketing and advertising.  The publisher is giving away free web site templates to anyone who will promote the product so everybody wants a piece of the action.  That is why you see so much of this guide in Google, Yahoo and the rest.  As for the guide itself, I was a little disappointed with what it offered.  The illustrations were okay and there were some good points.  I do feel that this guide is well worth the money but it isn’t my top pick.  Partly because of its promotional methods but mostly because of quality.

Next, let’s look at the other highly popular book entitled Home Made Power Plant. This is a little more “colorful” version of creating your own power. The illustrations are definitely more user friendly which I find very helpful. The products, after they are finished, are sleeker and more “high-tech” looking. I suppose one might say that is important but I am not one to be swayed by appearance. Let’s dig deeper and find out what the electricity savings are — at the time of this publication, the products created about $57 worth of electricity in about a week.  And the Home Made Power Plant had other benefits as well including many extras that are included in the price (which is lower than Earth4Energy’s price). I would have to say that this is the better of the two books.  And the customer service is absolutely remarkable …. and fast!

My recommendation is for Home Made Power Plant. I don’t think that Earth4Energy is a bad guide, I just think that Home Made Power Plant is a even better. Whichever book you decide to use in building your own power system, don’t delay — the earth is becoming more polluted while we are trying to decide if we should or shouldn’t build our own system. Take action, we all really can make a difference but we need to start now.  And save a ton of money along the way.
